Most of you who know me know that I am just nuts about tights. A lot of you who have seen me have NEVER seen me without tights! (Don't worry - I'm not about to post a picture of myself without tights....) My love affair with tights goes back a long way and there are a couple funny stories I can relate.
On one occasion when I was sharing a cabin at Camp with my sister Emi, I was in a hurry in the morning and just began to pull the tights up my legs. She let out this half-anguished cry of, "NO! Not like THAT! You'll TEAR them!" So then she spent the next ten minutes showing me how to put my tights on correctly and making me practice. BTW, she is my YOUNGER sister, too!
On another occasion I was visiting a Mommy (to me) named Nicole, and we needed to g to the store. I just threw a pair of jeans on over my tights and diaper, and I was wearing Crocs shoes - you know, with the holes in them? Anyway, in the checkout line, Mommy noticed the pink in my tights through the hols in the shoes. "Nice socks there," she whispered to me. Seeing me blush, she kept this up all the way to the car. :: Giggle ::
I have been shopping with my sister Spinner at a store that sold tights, and the guy working there seemed very worried, telling us, "Umm... those are ladies socks!" To which I replied... "No kiddin'?" :: Giggle :: And with my friend Alice we discovered a "Little Miss Matched" in Manhattan, and the girls working that store did not seem bothered at all by our shopping and our merchandise choices.
Okay - so, the commercial. I saw this on TV tonight and immediately set to search for it, and I found a great video of it (plus it is legal cause the advertiser themselves posted it!) Oh to have a drawer of tights heaven like that little girl has!

Cute Outfits ... in college football?
Well, just about anyone who knows Kita Sparkles knows she is a college football fan. But aside from the game itself, I may see an interest in a little bit more than the average fan. Thelast two years, I have noticed that the Cotton Bowl Pre-game show features a group that wears what must be the most absolutely darling uniform I have ever seen in anything associated with college football.

I did a little research and found out they are known as the Kilgore College Rangerettes. Apparently, they were the first dance/drill team in the world, started in 1940. They have been traditionally featured in the Cotton Bowl each year since 1951.

Happy Birthday to me...
Today is my LG Birthday. Some people may wonder what an LG Birthday is, and why I get two birthdays a year.
Actually, I, as a whole, get 3 birthdays a year. One is the day my body was born. That is my Big's Birthday and it is in the Spring. One is the anniversary of the day I was born again, and became a Christian - that is in the Summer. And then there is today.
It was 11 years ago today that I began earnestly to search online to answer the question of why I am the way I am - or more correctly, if there was anyone else who felt the way I do about things. After bypassing the "Sissy" sites, which were way more sexual and humiliation based than I felt, I came upon the site of someone from the UK, who was going by the name Rebeckah. Her site was in detail the same things I felt. That day, my LG spirit was born. I contacted Rebeckah and she helped me a lot in those first days. Eventually I met Catrina and Arcee (my "twin") on chat, and they told me of another chatroom that was daily. There, I met my sisters Karen Marie, and later, Spinner, and later than that I met another sister - Emily. I also have another sister I met somewhere else ... Henrietta. These are my closest friends.
There have been a lot of changes since then. Some were by choice, some were forced upon me by circumstance. Some were because I was not careful enough. I just felt, and still feel, that there can be nothing wrong with emphasizing what is innocent and beautiful - but others who do not understand the LG mindset turn it into something it is not, they twist it, and as a result many of us must stay hidden for now. It is not our place or intent to upset people. We just want to be allowed to experience life from our perspective.
My first LG birthday, everyone forgot. I was heartbroken. Since then, I made a lot of friends in certain places, but now that I have left those places (one of those "forced upon me by circumstance" changes), I wonder if anyone will remember that today is my LG Birthday. I hope they will.

Tuesday: Serious Stuff
When a post is made on Tuesdays, it will be on serious issues regarding the LG, AB, IK (Inner Kid), AR (Age Regression), or AP (Age Play) Culture.
This week, we look at how people judge those of us who engage in these activities.
*Please note - There are some cases in which gender play and/or age play are sexual. For personal reason, I choose not to address these cases. The following editorial seeks only to defend non-sexually themed age and gender play.
One thing I find interesting is the multiplicity of groups that find the practice of age play and/or gender play to be upsetting. Put a man in one type of long black dress and send him to his job every day and we call him a Judge. Put him in another type of dress and a funny hat and we call him a Priest or a Bishop or a Cardinal. But let him wear another type of dress and he is branded as some kind of freak or pervert. Where is the logic behind that?
Age play is the same way. Wear diapers because you really can't control yourself and that is ok - but wear diapers because you want to, even though you can control yourself, and it means there's something wrong with you. Wear certain types of clothing because they make more sense going along with diapers when you are a toddler, but no wearing them when you are older than that - even if you still wear diapers for any reason.
And hearing this from me may surprise some - but the religious are oft-times the worst offenders. For a people who live and push a lifestyle that is not on par with those who are not religious, many don't seem to realize that when they point the finger at someone else, three point back at them. Why in the world would God concern himself with what kind of underwear I put on?
Think of the most innocent Human Being you can. Now, what came to mind? Either a baby or a little girl, right? So is it any big wonder that a person who loves innocence may as an alter ego choose to actually become that little girl?
Are there some cases in which Age Play may go too far? Sure. If a person becomes too immersed, they may not take care of their responsibilities. Everyone has responsibilities that should be met. In some cases we must take care of them ourselves, or we may pass some of them on to a willing and dependable partner. In some families Mom does the cooking and in some Dad really enjoys doing that. In some families Mom really likes doing the lawn care of fixing things around the house, or taking care of the car. Why should it always be that women do household chores and men do lawn work and car repair? The notion is ridiculous. In any case, as long as we meet our own responsibilities, what does it matter what we do in our own time among willing participants?
Everyone has their vices - their own way of relaxing and dealing with stress. Some like to do outdoor activities like hiking or cycling. Some like to go out to dinner or to a movie. Some just veg out at home and watch TV. Still others harm themselves by illegal drugs, over-indulgence in alcohol, or multiple sexual partners. Once in awhile, someone who is high-profile is found to be someone who likes to engage in AB or some such activity (Senator Vitter comes to mind), and people get all up in arms about it. But you can be an alcoholic (Senator Kennedy comes to mind here) and stay in office for decades.
What are your thoughts? Why do people get so uptight about these sub-cultures, but not about things that may actually cause harm?

Sunday (May 30): Culture and Religion
In The spring in Japan, there is a holiday of importance to little girls. This is called "Hina-no-Sekku","Hina-Matsuri" (Doll's Festival) or "Momo-no-Sekku" (Peach blossom's Festival). At this time, mothers and daughters get out the Hina-Ningyo - Girls Day Dolls, and arrange them on a red cloth which may cover a structure with as many as seven steps. Saturday (May 29, 2010): Fashion
I bet when you read that I was going to do two nights of updates in a row, you thought, "Yeah, right..." But, here I am! Ready to do my Saturday column on fashion!
So what is in for Summer 2010 for little girls? You might know I check stores like Justice regularly for new fashion trends. I have to tell you I am NOT impressed this season. It looked like we were on the edge of perhaps a trend into flashy sequined stuff.... you know... SPARKLE! .... but unfortunately now that does not seem to be the case. What was thrown out to me was boring old graphic Ts, Tie dye, printed leggings, and faded denim. bleh.
BUT! I waded through and I did pull out a few gems to share with you. First - while most tie dye stuff does not scream little girl in my opinion, this cute little skirt DOES:
It is called "Flowers By Zoe".
